Doctor of Physical Therapy | Myofunctional Therapy & TMD Specialist
Rachel Shultz, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), is passionate about helping patients achieve pain relief and optimal function through orofacial myofunctional therapy and TMD treatment. With a strong background in neurological rehabilitation, she brings a comprehensive, whole-body approach to physical therapy.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Alabama in 2012 before completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the Medical College of Georgia in 2015. She has advanced training in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, allowing her to provide specialized care for issues related to breathing, swallowing, jaw function, and facial muscle coordination.
A Personal Journey to Myofunctional Therapy
Rachel’s passion for TMD and myofunctional therapy is deeply personal. After years of managing her own Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD), she discovered the transformative benefits of Myofunctional Therapy. This experience led her to transition from inpatient neurological rehabilitation to outpatient care, where she now specializes in treating jaw pain, headaches, facial tension, airway dysfunction, and postural imbalances.

She is an active member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church, where she and her family helped launch The Gathering at Bluff Park, the church’s modern worship service.
