Co-Owner & Occupational Therapist | Naos Physical and Occupational Therapy

Aonya Gray, co-owner of Naos Physical and Occupational Therapy, is a dedicated and experienced occupational therapist specializing in infant feeding, neurodevelopment, and myofunctional therapy. With a strong background in early childhood development, she is passionate about providing holistic, individualized care to support infants, children, and their families.

Aonya earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies from The University of Alabama (2005) and went on to receive her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (2007). She began her career at Children’s Hospital of Alabama in 2008, gaining extensive experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, pediatric and neonatal intensive care (NICU), psychiatric care, and cardiac intensive care. With over 12 years of expertise in feeding, swallowing, and neurodevelopmental therapy for neonates and infants, Aonya is a trusted specialist in early intervention and pediatric care.

A Passion for Infant & Pediatric Therapy

Aonya believes that the postpartum period and first year of life are a critical and delicate time for both infants and their caregivers. She is deeply committed to supporting new mothers and families as they navigate feeding challenges, developmental milestones, and early intervention therapies. Having personally experienced breastfeeding difficulties, she developed a profound desire to help other mothers feel empowered and supported in their journey.

Her interest in orofacial myofunctional disorders grew when she sought answers for one of her own children in 2019. This personal journey led her to specialize in treating orofacial disorders early in life, helping prevent long-term functional issues related to feeding, airway health, and overall development.

Beyond the Clinic

Aonya and her husband, Rob, have been married for 14 years and are proud parents to three children. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, cheering on her children’s sports and school activities, and serving with her faith community at The Church at Brook Hills.

Her compassionate and evidence-based approach to therapy ensures that every child and family she works with receives the best possible care to foster long-term success and well-being.
